One of the cutting-edge tools used by Dr. E is Tekscan, also known as T-Scan®  Novus™. This is a relatively new technology used to identify and treat occlusion, which is commonly known as the patient’s “bite.”  A recent clinical study found that a whopping 94% of dentists struggle to pinpoint occlusion using traditional articulating paper alone.  Dr. E’s patients need not worry! Dr. E Cosmetic & Family Dental is one of the few practices locally utilizing T-Scan®, dentistry’s only clinically recognized and research validated digital occlusion analysis system.

T-Scan technology offers a “next level” component to the longstanding practice of patients biting down on articulating paper to assess occlusion.  Functioning as a digital analysis system, T-Scan enables dentists (and patients!) to see where they couldn’t before – by capturing 2D, 3D, and 4D data in a video format, so that dentists can visually walk patients through their occlusion analysis and treatment plan.  Working in conjunction with paper, T-Scan eliminates any guesswork when it comes to evaluating occlusion and prescribing the best treatment plan.  After all, the most accurate diagnosis and plan of attack is critical when it comes to early identification of problems and maintaining a healthy and beautiful smile.

In addition to the implementation of T-Scan technology, Dr. E and her team utilize other cutting-edge technologies to provide the best level of patient care.  Digital radiography ensures that patients are exposed to significantly less radiation than traditional film while the technology allows patients to see and comprehend potential problem areas on a computer screen.  Dr. E also skillfully blends art and science – digital images in conjunction with custom models – to visually illustrate desired cosmetic dentistry outcomes.
