Say Thank You To Your Dental Assistant!

Dental Assistant Recognition is in March

Dr. E always gives love to her incredible team of dental assistants but with Dental Assistant Recognition Week taking place during March, please join us in giving an extra BIG shout out to dental assistants everywhere! They are the backbone of every dental practice and they deserve to be recognized for their skill, contributions and dedication to each dental team and the overall dental community.

What is the role of a dental assistant?

Dental assistants not only help you feel comfortable and safe in the dental chair before you consult with your dentist, they are specially trained to assist dentists with dental procedures. Dental assistants are skilled in administering x-rays, preparing and sterilizing dental equipment and educating patients about brushing, flossing and overall oral health. They also help manage the administrative aspects of dental practices, including scheduling patients, record keeping and dealing with insurance matters.

Meet Dr. E’s dynamic dental assistant duo

Dr. E could not take such fantastic care of her patients without the aid of her awesome dental assistants, Lisa and Rosio. They play a crucial role in both the daily operations of Dr. E Cosmetic and Family Dental and in caring for our amazing patients — which is why they deserve a shout-out below!

Lisa Stringer-Garcia has 30 years of dental experience and has worked alongside Dr. E for more than 7 years. Needless to say, she is a highly valued member of the Dr. E Cosmetic and Family Dental team. Lisa assists Dr. E in welcoming and educating patients and with tasks and procedures such as x-rays, record keeping, scheduling, lab duties and impressions. She is both a Certified Dental Designer (fabrication of porcelain crowns) and a Certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgical Anesthesia Assistant. Lisa loves the personal interaction she has with each patient and finds it very rewarding to be able to provide a valuable health service to the Ahwatukee community. We thank Lisa for all she brings to the practice and for the outstanding level of patient care she provides!

Rosio Avina has more than 13 years of dental experience and joined the Dr. E Cosmetic and Family Dentistry team in 2018 after moving from California to Arizona. A warm, familiar face to patients, Rosio provides double duty by working in the front office as well as being a dental assistant to Dr. E. She assists hygienists and also helps patients navigate and notify insurance about their dental procedures and treatments. While we love having Rosio on the team, she also loves being part of the Dr. E Cosmetic and Family Dentistry family and having the daily opportunity to help patients achieve healthy, beautiful smiles. Thank you, Rosio, for all you do to help our patients and practice thrive!

Becoming a dental assistant

A career as a dental assistant is both rewarding and enjoyable, with many career paths and growth options available to those pursuing the profession. Skills that prospective dental assistants should possess include patience, compassion, interpersonal and listening skills, organization and good dexterity in order to assist during dental procedures. Dental assistants have the ability to study for certifications in specific niche areas, which can lead to greater personal advancement in the field.

In the spirit of Dental Assistant Recognition this month, we encourage you to let Lisa and Rosio know how much you value and appreciate their contributions to your care!  What a wonderful gesture it would be to send each of them a short thank you note. Or, please take a few minutes to let them know just how much they are appreciated next time you visit the practice.

Thank you to Lisa, Rosio and dental assistants everywhere. We honor and appreciate you more than you know! Please contact the Dr. E Cosmetic and Family Dentistry team today to schedule your next visit! 480-494-2435
